Ephemera Freebies

Welcome back to the cottage!! I hope you Ladies enjoyed my first post, I sure had a good time writing it... I also hope that Suzanne's pictures have inspired you as much as they inspired me! For all of those that have commented on my previous post, thank you!. Don't forget to link us to your personal blog using the Etsy Cottage Style Blog button on the right side of this page. By doing that, your blog will be added to our list of wonderful cottage blogs and I'll make sure that you and your work get featured soon...

Since one can never have enough images to work with, I thought that will be a good idea to post free images every week. You can download them, print them, use them in your projects, share them but not sell them individually or as a part of a set. So here are the first freebies....

Ephemera:

1
: something of no lasting significance —usually used in plural
2
: ephemera plural : paper items that were originally meant to be discarded after use.

Postcards from far away places, ledger pages that speak of a simpler time, theater bills, carnival tickets, envelopes and colorful stamps are just some examples...

It's funny how paper that was meant to have a short life has become so treasured by artists of all mediums....No Romeo could have ever imagined his love letter would later transform a journal, an ATC, a blog banner!?. No musician could had dreamed of his favorite music sheet being decoupaged on a piece of furniture!...And that's exactly what many of us do, take a look at some finished projects that will help you get your wild imagination going. (please don't copy these images without author's authorization)

"What a little bird said" ATC by Lynn, blogged at http://hercreativespirit.blogspot.com/

"Paper doll angel" by Emily

Decoupaged table top, blogged at http://niceandeasyantiques.blogspot.com

If you are looking for an extra push to get you going, come over to the Mixed Media Group and join us on this week's challenge. Carolyn has challenged us to create something using an old book page or a music sheet...come on, give it a try, all mediums welcome!. We would love to have you!

Oh, and the sweet little Angel with the white button wings will now be mine. I just made a few purchases from Emily. Can't wait to get them.
Blessings to you all from chilly Northern Wisconsin,
