Easy Monday Tutorial...

Are you ready for another CEC Tut???...That is another cheap, easy and chic tutorial!

We all buy toilette paper and we all end up with the little inside tube, don't we? Well, now we can recycle them and make simple, but very cute napkin holders...

I started with this:
Toilette Paper Roll Tube
Fabric Remnants

I cut my roll in 3 sections of 1 1/2" tall each and my fabric in strips of approx. 1" X 16" .
I covered the roll with the fabric, gluing it in 3 or 4 different places with my glue gun. Keeping the material tight and the addition of the glue, makes the cardboard a lot stronger and stable...

I glued the end of the fabric strip and tied ribbons and strips of matching fabrics, 2 or 3 should be enough...I also thread a couple of beads to one of the ribbons...

...And finally covered all the knots with a sand dollar and a starfish left over from another project using the glue gun again...

These will also be great with a big silk flower for a Mother's Day Luncheon...

and a set of 4, made with your kid's help, will make a beautiful Teacher's Gift!

Have a fantastic, productive and inspirational Monday!

Marcela, I LOVE your napkin rings! I am making some 4th of July napkin rings using the same plan. I am the one who told you about my Thanksgiving rings. (I am assuming that you are as overwhelmed with all of these blogs and people as I am!)
I love visiting both of your blogs. I can't believe someone tossed that perfectly good dresser out!
Keep up the good work!

Marcela, this is so funny because I was just looking at an empty roll the other night (while on the potty!) and was thinking that there must be something that I could use these for. I can't wait until I find a good fabric to use. Thanks for the tip! Also I would love to have my website listed here as well. www.thevintagevignette.blogspot.com
