Announcing the ECS.........

That's right the Etsy Cottage Style Market Monday. We at Etsy Cottage Style Blog are excited about this get-together! Every first Monday of the month everyone is invited to meet at the blog to market your individual selling sites. With the help of Mr. Linky, visitors to the blog will be directed to participating sites.
Participating sites include Etsy, Ebay, Selling Blogs, and traditional Websites. With enough participating vendors this could be a virtual flea market.......... vintage and new jewelry, kitchy and dime store finds, prims, vintage textile designs, hand-painted home accents, dolls, supplies, paper creations, fabrics, antiques, smalls.....it makes me giddy just thinking of the possibilities.   The first Market Monday Will be Monday April, 5th. to kick off the Mother's Day shopping period.
If we all promote Market Monday to our followers, other Meme's, sites that freely promote merchandizing events...0r...any website you can think of that may let more people know would be great!
This should be up and running by Sunday night..I know Easter Sunday...but this should run for the week like our other get-togethers. Hope to see you here Monday.
If you have any questions just leave a comment and we'll get to you as fast as we can.

Welcome to the Vintage Alphabet Party!

Hello Everybody! So glad you could attend the March Vintage Alphabet Party.
March's letter is twofold....C and D.... sorry, but we have to double and triple some months.
Show off your vintage 'C'omforters, 'C'renolin skirts, 'C'ross-stitch or 'C'oloring Books. Your vintage 'D'ishtowels, 'D'epression Glass, 'D'ioramas, or 'D'ime Store memories. These are just a few suggestions.  We Can't wait to see all your vintage collectible C and D ideas!

Please remember this is a blog get-together You may place items that you sell in your blog post giving background and info, or how you use or enhance the vintage item. You can let party-goers know it's for sale on your site, but please do not link your selling sites.
Selling sites (i.e. Etsy or Ebay) will be removed from Mr. Linky
This post stays up for the week, join in at your convenience.

The Mr Linky is easy to use. After you have "published" your Vintage Alphabet post on your blog, stop by  Etsy Cottage Style and put your name and the permalink to your  post into the Mr. Linky's sign up box.

What is a permalink? A permalink is the direct link to your post, as opposed to your general blog address. When someone visits Etsy Cottage Style during the week and clicks on your link, they will be taken directly to your Vintage Alphabet post instead of having to search through your most recent posts to find it.

There are two ways to get your permalink. One way is to click on the title of your Vintage Alphabet post, then right click on the URL address showing in the address field at the top and select Copy. Then paste this link into Mr. Linky which will be available here. Click on "Enter" and you are all done! You will see your permalink posted. :-) Or, another way to add your link for Mr. Linky is to right click on the title of your Vintage Alphabet  post, select "copy shortcut" and then paste this link into the URL box on the Mr. Linky sign-up.

Let Me Introduce You To:

Cleo Headley.....Cleo is orginally from Ithaca, New York, but now makes her home in Webster, New York.
Cleo began crafting at the tender age of nine. She credits her mother with teaching her the art of embroidery. Cleo's mother was a seamstress, as well as her sister, Adriana and her Aunt Emma. This is a family of very talented women. Without a doubt, Cleo was distined to become an artist in her own right. Altho the women in the family sewed all of Cleo's prom dresses and school clothes, they even made her wedding dress, she was on a different path. Cleo had a love a quilting, doll making, pillows and just about anything for the home decor. Together, they must have made quite a fabulous team. As you can see from the quilt in the above picture, there is a lot of talent in those fingers.

In the 1970's, Cleo taught herself to tole painted. She bought books and began her quest with paint and brush. She studied the art of Theorem painting with a skilled teacher and eventually was a teacher herself. You could find Cleo's work in shops and also in the craft show circuit. She did the shows for over 35 years, spreading her love of painting all over the country.

Her background is extensive: Floral designer for 15 yrs, designer at Michaels for 3 yrs, and Interior Designer for two stores. Cleo's love for the arts and crafts took her on the journey of a lifetime. As time would have it, the internet opened up to new possiblities and the groundwork was layed. Cleo's work can sometimes be found on Ebay, she is listed on Etsy and now has opened her new website which can be found HERE.

Cleo continues her love of quilting  and painting. She is also very interested in colors, which has lead her to jewelry making and designing. We all wish Cleo lots of luck with everything she does. This woman is an artist wearing many hats, and very accomplished at whatever she decides to do. These pictures are just a small sampleing of the talent she has. Cross-stitching, painting, beading, jewelry making, floral work, ribbon work, quilting, the list goes on and on. I feel very fortunate to call Cleo as a friend and look forward to seeing much more of her work.
